Space Day is dedicated to the extraordinary achievements, benefits and opportunities in the exploration and study of the science of space. Activities: Filtered Light: Discover how colored filters can help reveal more detailed information about an image. Expanding Universe: Work together to make predictions, and use a model to demonstrate how the universe is expanding. Space Guess Quest: Play a fun card game to sort and classify objects in the universe. Stomp Rockets: Build and launch your own air rockets to imagine the challenges and triumphs of engineering and launching spacecraft into a specific region of space above our planet. Static Electricity: Make your own electroscope to detect static electricity. Explore the Stars: Visit the Noble Planetarium to learn about objects that adorn our night skies. Rocket Revelry: Engage with students from the BCTAL Rocket Engineering Class, and discuss their findings from experimental rocket simulations.
