Position Function:
Develop, establish, and maintain relationships in the community that support foster care and adoption recruitment and retention activities. Develop and implement a recruitment and retention plan under the director of the Family Engagement Supervisor to achieve department recruitment and retention goals. Planned and facilitated weekly outreach activities in the community to recruit foster and adoptive families and establish community partners to achieve our mission. Coordinate with the marketing department to plan and implement an annual recruitment and retention marketing campaign. Represent ACH in the community in collaborative efforts to recruit and support foster families. Develop tracking and evaluation of outreach activities for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Development, Community Education or a related field required.
Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience providing community outreach and education, recruitment and retention campaign planning and implementation and development and/or promotional and brand management activities.
Functional Requirements:
Establish collaborations with community groups, key community leaders and other stakeholders and collaborate with the ACH Marketing Department and Foster Care/Adoption staff and stakeholders throughout the agency. Facilitate collaborations to develop and implement an effective outreach, recruitment and retention strategy that achieves department goals. Follow policies and procedures of ACH and represent the agency in a positive and professional manner. Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Additional Functional Requirements:
- Provide education and training to prospective foster, adoptive, and kinship families going through the licensing process.
- Demonstrate strong people and interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate with diverse families, collaborating agencies, outside professionals and ACH Child and Family Services staff for optimal services
- Demonstrate good judgment, the ability to work independently
- Demonstrate an ability to continue learning through supervision, continuing education, and experience
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to complete documentation in a timely manner without errors
- Must have strong organizational, technical and time management skills
- Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and have a driving record, which is within guidelines of the insurance underwriter
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Must be able to think globally, solve problems, and make good decisions with critical thinking skills
Working Conditions:
Evening and weekend hours required.
Exposure to Confidential Information:
Maintain confidentiality and follow ACH policies and procedures and contractual and regulatory requirements for personnel, foster parent, applicant, and client records.
Key Expectations/Responsibilities:
Outreach Plan:
- Work with ACH Marketing Department to develop an annual outreach plan to recruit and retain foster care, treatment foster care and adoption families
- Increase the number of families we recruit for foster care, treatment foster care, and adoption services
- Increase the number of foster care families that we retain annually
- Plan and facilitate focus groups two times annually to inform foster care/adoption recruitment and retention plans
- Develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate media and marketing campaign and materials in collaboration with the marketing department to reach department recruitment and retention goals
- Represent ACH in community meetings and collaborations for foster care/adoption recruitment and retention activities
- Plan and implement events to support foster care/adoption recruitment and retention
- Follow up with leads every sixty to ninety days
Community Partnerships:
- Provide education and awareness to the community about the foster care and adoption services through Joint Information Meetings, community fairs, agency website, Constant Contact, agency publications, personal contacts and other means
- Develop active community partnerships by forming and maintaining relationships with community businesses, churches, and other strategic populations by making personal connections in a consistent and professional manner
- Work in collaboration with the ACH Marketing Department, Foster Care/Adoption Department, and other members of the ACH outreach team to present a coordinated message to the community
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain all necessary documentation to fulfill contractual, accreditation and agency requirements
- Develop forms and tracking mechanisms for monitoring the productivity of outreach activities
- Evaluate effectiveness of outreach strategies and participate in continuous improvement planning and processes
Other Duties:
- Participate in supervision and team meetings
- Complete all ACH training requirements annually and as assigned by supervisor
